About Us

MURTOA-63

Our Lady Help of Christians Primary School is proudly located in Murtoa, a vibrant Wimmera farming community around 30km from Horsham. We are part of the St Paul VI Catholic parish and maintain a strong partnership with local families and parishioners across Murtoa and surrounding districts.

Founded in 1963 and led by the Brigidine Sisters, Our Lady’s has a proud tradition of providing a high-quality, personalised Catholic education. That tradition continues today in our brand-new, purpose-built school building, which opened in early 2025. Our learning spaces are modern, flexible, and designed to support both structured and creative learning experiences.

A Small School with a Big Heart

As Principal Chris McCumstie shares:

“We are a very proud school community… committed to the education and formation of the whole child… Our structured learning environments, beautiful grounds and dedicated team of teachers and support staff allow for this holistic education.”

At Our Lady's, students are known, valued, and supported to thrive in all areas of their learning and development. Our small size allows for genuine connection and personalisation, while our curriculum and facilities support rich, engaging learning across academic, creative, spiritual and physical domains.

We are proudly inclusive and welcoming of all families, and we actively foster strong partnerships between home, school and parish.

Daily Free Bus from Horsham

To support access for families in the wider region, we offer a free daily bus service from Horsham to Murtoa and back, making it easier than ever to be part of our caring and connected school community.
